Closing down

Been almost a year since the last newspost. And this time i bear sad news. In the not too distant future we will close down ff.net
The site has not become what sunspark and I have originally envisioned.
The exact close date is still unknown, but if you want to save any stories save them now.

Scheduled website downtime

Our webhost is upgrading the servers with new versions (for the techies: from PHP4/MySQL4 to PHP5/MySQL5) tonight, European time. I'm not sure how long the downtime will be, so please be patient.
Edit: Seems like the forums are broken, I'll try fix when I have access to the database server again, they are still busy with that part.
Edit-2: Everything working now, as far as I can tell. Please notify me if you still encounter an error.

E3 extravaganza

As you read this it is the second day of E3. The world biggest videogaming event.
The event is not open to the publick this year, all the more frustrating for those who want to get thier paws on the new ps3 or wii controller.
Go check all the big gaming sites: tothegame.com , ign.com or gamespot.com for a massive amount of screens and videos.
Judging from the first trailers and the 2 hour press conferences nintendo surprisingly steals the show and the wii just might become the next big thing much like the DS.
Will the hefty $600 price tag on the PS3 keep sony from beating the Xbox 360?

Vampire Hunter D books announced

Made into the international hit film Vampire Hunter D and the stunning sequel Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, this classic seriesk by Japanese horror fiction master Hideyuki Kikuchi has been sought after by english-speaking fans for decades.
DH Press and Digital Manga Publishing have announced the translation of the first novel in the ongoing series of Vampire Hunter D books, available for the first time!"
Meaning now the Vampire Hunter D books will be available in english.
if you have even a passing interest in Gothic horror and.or vampires you won`t want to miss it. Watch the movies and I`m sure you`ll lust for more.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children To Be Released

Yes, after much confusion and demand, the movie is scheduled to come out this Spring in UMD and DVD Formats. I have to say the movie is one of the greates hits of all time. Not only does it revolutionize the CGI in cinema, but also it also has a great storyline and conclusion. The movie takes place after Sephiroth's deafeat (Play FF VII for the background to the storyline). The world is now infected with a dreadful disease. Cloud has been gone and for some reason, feels like he is worth nothing, very secluded. The action is awesome.
Now, the release is in English, not sure if Japanese and Spanish languages are present, but it is dubbed for Enlgish speakers. As most translations, they tend to change the script for understandment. If you want original content, I suggest you get the Fan-Subbed Japanese version.
But if you still want to hear it in English, save some spare change for this release.
Even if you are not a fan of the game, sitting down and watching this movie will be well woth your time.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will ship on April 25, 2006 in both DVD and UMD formats. The suggested retail price for the two-disc set is expected to be $26.95 for the DVD, and $28.95 for the UMD release. The film will be rated PG-13.
